99.9 km - A Saturday Afternoon Ride

This noon, despite the bad (and constantly changing) weather forecast, I decided to take my bike for a long ride. I initially planed to ride north west to the German border and then clockwise in a big turn back to Zurich. As I spotted some dark and rainy clouds to the right I went for a counter clockwise tour. This gave me quite a heavy headwind for many kilometers. I was very glad, that I could ride in the aero position for most of the time. The plus was the tailwind on the way back.
As you can see on the map, I had for the first time some problems with the GPS tracking of Cyclemeter (that gave me a max speed of 191 km/h for km 77).
I borrowed the idea for the title of this post from The Foot Down. Ty did just recently 66.6 miles in the beautiful South Wales area.

75'065 miles on a bike in a year

Today I came across this article on BBC News. In 1939 Tommy Godwin rode his bike for 75'065 miles. He continued into 1940 to complete the 100'000 miles.
To achieve this you have to ride more than 320 km daily. Tommy did this on a four gear bike, fixed problems himself and slept only a few hours the night. According to the article this is a world record that will most likely stand forever.

Help bringing back Leisure Suit Larry

Check out the Leisure Suit Larry Kickstarter project. Replay Games, together with members of the "old Larry crew" like e.g. Al Lowe, tries to bring Larry back into business.
The aim is to rise $500'000 within 30 days on the crowd founding platform Kickstarter. The founding is going well, so hurry up and sign up as a backer if you want access to alpha and beta version of the game, see your name in the game credits or have dinner with Al Lowe (this one is quite expensive).
